Based on the principle that all theses must be relevant to the research objectives of UCME, student projects can play an important role in adding to the collective understanding of the island and the marine systems that surround it. Projects compliment ongoing work at the centre which means there is a range of interesting projects suitable for both undergraduate and post graduate levels of study. To learn more about the research topics currently available download the dissertation topic list here or contact us for further information.

Whilst UCME expect excellence from the students who work at the centre, in return the high level of support available can maximise the potential of each and every student who works here.

UCME also offers a limited number of scholarships and bursaries to assist exceptional students, especially from universities within Central America, with the cost of research projects on the island.

Contact UCME directly for further information on conducting your student project at Utila Centre for Marine Ecology.
